Don’t throw that old valance Away

I am not a valance person. Well, my windows are not valance windows, they are too big. I have to hit the second hand shops to pick them up. The good thing is, I was able to buy 5 for about a buck. I turn them into aprons for the kids and myself. It only takes one easy step. At the sides on the top hem of the valance, simply sew a strand of ribbon on each side for ties. Done!
Here is 1 of my valances. This one is super long, 72 inches. I left this one doubled over and sewed along the top hem so both layers stay together. Next I added the ribbon at the side once it was sewn.
Here is one of my models sporting the new apron.
The problem with the aprons being made is the kids want to go bake NOW. I still have far too many projects to get done. Maybe in the morning.
