The Junk Drawer
It is 5:25 am, but I have been wide awake for an hour and a half. When our last daughter started sleeping through the night I was thrilled. Got to say these two new puppies are doing their best to drag me back in parenting zombie land. As I sit in my office and look out the window the sky is pretty in my eyes. A storm is brewing, fluffy clouds in several colors fill the sky. The sun is just making its way to the horizon, and most of the clouds have a dark pink cast to them. Deep purple is slowing taking over the sky, such an array of colors. Beyond the clouds the sky is growing to a dark navy blue. The green trees and clouds look electrified with color against the sky, simply stunning. I have always loved storms. Somehow a good raging thunderstorm seems to wash away everything for a while. It leaves me feeling refreshed, in awe of the colors of nature and revitalize it somehow. I love a good storm and something is brewing. A few bats swoop by my window as the cool wind blows in. I hope they eat every last mosquito they find! Almost looks as though they are dancing on the wind.
On a different note, I am glad the heat wave here in Minnesota finally ended two days ago. Our government shut down is now over, and the state is once again humming along. Yesterday we went to a BBQ at a neighbors house, Thank you again Jeannie and Ron. The kids had a blast riding horses, and I stuffed my face which is always a good thing until it adds to my butt. Good friends, food and lots of fun. A long overdue day for me 😉
