Everyday Dose Of Reality
Today I will breathe. Do not get upset because the kids broke a bowl, glass and coffee cup in the two hours they have been awake. Breathe, it is only a ton of glitter strewn about the 130 foot hallway. It will be ok once you pull out all of the noodles from the four year old ears. Life will not end because house breaking the two puppies is on the brink of chaos. Just clean up the ponds of pee and landmines and try again. It will be fine although you only have two Tylenol left and the coffee pot is empty. It is normal for a three year old to rip the buttons off her shirt to get it off. Yes the puppy will poop out the buttons in time. So what if the vacuum doesn’t suck, you needed to take it apart to clean it anyway. Be grateful you have a dishwasher even if you are loading it five times a day. Be understanding when the nine year old comes to you screaming she is going to kill her brother. Just simply untie her and gently remove the Duct Tape he put in her hair. Breathe. It will be fine, other children draw on their faces with rainbow colored Sharpe markers. Be happy you didn’t roll in the puppy vomit before you woke up. Close your eyes and breathe, find your happy place. Imagine all the screaming is tropical island music, and not the ritual sacrifice of a little sister to the Fruit Loop god. The sun will set, children will eventually fall asleep and all will be right with the world that is your house. At least until the sun rises tomorrow. And, again…you will breathe.
