The Junk Drawer
Just about every little girl in the world at some point loves horses. Our daughter Isabelle has loved them for years. She turns 10 next week and eats, breathes and sleeps horses. I do not lie the child has horse PJ’s. A while back we meet some new neighbors, Ron & Jeanie. Awesome, awesome couple and his live in brother Joe is a sweetheart too. I posted a few weeks ago we were going to a BBQ and the kids were going to ride some horses, that was at Ron & Jeanie’s house.
Not too long after that since Jeanie is a horse lover and Isabelle is as well, the two of them went to a horse show. The husband and I had a long talk about horses, which we both have had before, the topic of owning a few came up pretty fast. We have the side field that we are fencing anyhow, so why not horses in there the kids could ride and take care of? The plan is for next fall to get a horse or two and in the meantime, Miss Isabelle has to prove herself. Before next fall she has to have done her daily chores on her own, with no reminders or me pleading with her. This will show us that she will help out with the horses. We all know I have enough to do with the kids, house and animals we have already. The poor husband is in solar/wind testing and renovation mode at all times. So if there is to be horses, Isabelle will have to help out. So, the husband went Birthday shopping for her and found this saddle. She has it displayed in her room as a reminder to do her chores and the reward at the end. Only time will tell if this saddle will be put on a horse or simply displayed on a wall 😉
