Everyday Dose Of Reality
Wednesday we puttered around the house trying to get things ready for winter. Little did we realize, and we must have missed the Minnesota memo, winter is here. That day we had marble size hail pelted for 10 minutes, followed by a lovely chilly rain. Had snow dust the ground during the night and capped it off with a severe hard frost. Yep the leaves are hanging from the trees, pretty much screaming for their lives.
Thursday, however, held a much different tone for us. We had one sick child home with us, Sierra Snotface is her new name. Then there is the appliances. You see, since we bought the new fridge it has leaked. If you are one of the brave souls that have followed this blog through the move to the new house you already know the tale of the fridge, stove and microwave. I would have loved to report that the saga ended with the second set of newly delivered appliances in December. I just can’t. The fridge, it leaked somewhere internally to the bottom of the freezer. Our freezer is the bottom of the fridge, so the water would freeze in the bottom and once it was thick enough…water would then continue to run out the front onto the floor. Now, had I not installed a new kitchen floor it wouldn’t be that big an issue but I did. Did I mention the washing machine took a dump as well? It was giving me error codes of F9, E1, F8 and E3. I was sitting in a chair in the laundry room all day long to reset the washer, clear the errors have the washer then just error out F9, E3 and FU all day long. Thursday brought us the repairman!!! He fixed everything and it works like a dream. Now with everything fixed, a child laid out on the couch it was time for the other kids to come home for the day. Amethyst brought me 2 notes from her room teacher. Seems confirmed cases and exposure of strep throat and LICE were found in her class. Now there is some really good news. Come on Friday!
