The Junk Drawer
Some of you that have been following my blog since last summer, might recall Spike. Those of you that have no idea who Spike is I’ll tell you. The kids had me buy a pineapple last summer, and I told them I had planted the top of one in a pot before. The kids were stunned and didn’t believe it could be done. I cut the top off and put it in a pot of dirt. Naturally I cut up the good parts of the pineapple too, and the kids hoovered those. So, Spike was named by the kids and has been with us for the last year to a year and a half. He or it since I don’t believe trees have a sex, made the move from Georgia to Minnesota with us. His ride was a little less conventional than everyone else, Spike sat in the sink of the rv the whole trip.
Spike had a major growing this past year with all his trimmings and it is time for yet another pot, a big one. In the spirit of recycling I had these huge light units from the gym/living room/dinning room. Macgyver had to remove two lights to put up the ceiling fans and I have been thinking one might be a good home for Spike.
