Everyday Dose Of Reality
There are some days when you swear your brain vacated. That is how I feel now that I have had time to really look at the layout in the gym/dining room/living room. Here is what I am working with, see funky pictures below.
I made the mistake of putting the living room area in the left area above the double doors into the room. Dining room is sort of hovering out in front of the large kitchen pass through window. Here is where the men should cringe. Normally I am not a furniture rotating wife, but this current arrangement is not right. Macgyver says leave it alone, then again he keeps looking at how big our furniture is. Now that I have had a few months to really tare apart the gym visually and we now have all our furniture and it is put together…I know what I am working with. It is set in place all wrong as far as I am concerned.
It should be: living room along the wall with the new glass door. Keep in mind the entertainment center thingy is 27.5 feet long and we have tables, 2 big sectional couches and those 3 massive floor pillows that are like 4 feet by 6 feet each. The dining room should be in the corner where the current living room is at. I would like to see it inclosed with big doorways on both new built walls. Later a fireplace will be installed in the top corner of the gym on the other side of the little kitchen window. That will be a sitting area in the future and can still be in view of the kids live shows on the stage.
The dilemma to all of this is Macgyver. He has always said, “honey it’s your house. You tell me what you want built and I’ll do it”. This new layout is making him twitch though. I catch him walking around shaking his head and when I ask, “What”? Macgyver just answers, “nothing. It’s your house”. So the question is this…do I move it all and lay the lines for him to build the walls? Or go with what he wants and when the man is gone do it the way I want it then? Chime in people.
