Adventures Of Orthos
Over the past few days when my mom lets Buck, Shayla and I out we take off into the woods. I haven’t realized it, but we have been gone for a while each time. The first couple of times I could hear my mom yelling my name, but it was so much fun running full tilt through the woods. Now that all the leaves have fallen off the trees, I can speed through the woods and weave in and out of the trees. I run so fast the trees are just a blur. It feels so good to have my hair churned up by the cold fall air. Buck can almost keep up with me and he takes short cuts around trees to stay with me. Shayla is a bit smaller than he is, and she has a really hard time staying with us. I have to slow down sometimes and bark for her so she knows where we are.
Yesterday we ran off for over an hour. I know that because that is what my mom said, “Where have you been?!! Outside in the snow looking and calling for you for more than an hour! What is wrong with you”? She was mad. This morning we took off again for about an hour. She called my name 2 times and that was it. I think she is tired of looking for me. When I came home I noticed Buck was already in the house sitting by her feet at the door. Mom opened the door, and, I can hardly bare to say it, she took my jewelry off my neck. “NO! That is mine” I barked at her. She told me I don’t deserve it. I know for a fact the one who wears that one piece of jewelry is the dog in charge, and she she, she put it in her pocket! What does that mean? And, dad is out looking for Shayla. What have I done?! I lost my daughter and my jewelry is in mom’s pocket. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Well fluff my fur, how do I fix this mess I made of things?
