The Junk Drawer
Get your mind out of the gutter. I whacked off my bangs. Guess I should say my new bangs since I haven’t had bangs in the last twenty years. Macgyver laid down to take a nap and I was left alone for a bit. Apparently fifteen minutes alone is too long because when he woke up and the kids came home they just all looked at me strangely. If you are a parent you know the look I am talking about. The gaze with an arched brow and a frown. Something along the lines of “mom is a neon alien with antler blinking bright lights speaking greek”. One brave child said, “it makes your face look round”. Shocker my face is round, not everyone has the face of Halle Berry or Elle Macpherson. I was tired of the same hair style. Always long and bangs down passed my chin. Trying something new is not bad, I guess if you have a round face it can be. Even the dogs voted on the hair, Orthos lead the pack in a bark off. I will say the bangs are all Holly Hunters fault. Today I watched one of her movies, Home for the Holidays, and got to thinking. She is one of those women that always looks up with the times. Truth? Hair is something that if you keep it the same will at some point come back in style. Just not sure how many decades I will be waiting.
Back to the hair growing board, let them grow back out and toss them off to the side again. Which brings me to a question for all of you ladies and men too. What hair styles do you like or think looks good on long haired women with a round face? I prefer long hair because I have some mental thing about my hair being short and air hitting the back of my neck. Yep, I’m mental alright. Something about short hair on me turns me into Super Bitch. I am one of those women that has no sense of style when it comes to myself. Oh sure, I can dress anyone else to the nines from head to toe. I schlep around in baggy jeans and a sweat shirt. In my defense, we are renovating the school into a house and concrete, paint and stain don’t go with a whole lot of clothing. My hair is pulled up in a knot most of the time. I know what you’re thinking. If you can’t stand air on your neck how can you have your hair up all the time, you’re just a few clips away from that? Simple, I’m mental I admit that, we all have issues mine just happens to be my brain.
