We ran out of coffee creamer and Macgyver and I have no plans to head to town until next week. We have to have coffee, I mean we gave up smoking all of a sudden. Let’s not send our bodies into complete shock by whacking out all coffee intake too. What to do? Well, I started digging through my pantry and I found a few things. Then I got to thinking, really how hard can it be to come up with a powdered coffee creamer? I guess that will depend on just what you have in your pantry.
What you will need:
1/3c. granulated sugar
1/3 chocolate or vanilla pudding (makes either chocolate or French vanilla creamer)
2c. powder milk
Doing the deed:
Put all ingredients into a food processor or blender. Mix until it is a fine powder. Put in an air tight container. Use a teaspoon or 2 per cup of coffee depending on your taste. If you would like a slightly less sweetened creamer cut back on the sugar a bit. When I use this, I do not add sugar to my coffee at all. I strictly use the creamer. Have fun tweaking and exploring all the flavors you can come up with.
If you are simply looking for a way to spice up your coffee for brewing I have a few ways I have used over the years. Cinnamon coffee, I just add a touch of ground cinnamon over the grounds before brewing. If you are looking for a peppermint/candy cane taste for the holidays, use a candy cane to stir your coffee in the cup or add a few pieces of broken up peppermint candy in your grounds for brewing.
