When we moved into this school granted we found some strange things, some items I re-purposed for a new use. I found half made boxes out of wood in several of the class rooms while I was demoing them to become the kids bedrooms and I held on to the partial boxes. Macgyver and I have a few smaller children such as the deranged fairy and hyper Minnie Mouse. Turns out the half boxes are perfect step stool for them. I put on in the main bathroom to reach the sink better. If you have children you understand the frustration and sheer yuckiness of strung toothpaste slobber down the front of the sink. I also put one in the kitchen since they love to stand at the island across from me to help cook and bake.
The boxes are very heavy duty and are just raw wood, no finishing at all. After laying the kitchen floor a while ago, I am tired of hearing the step stool scrape across the floor as they slid it and it was a yucky stained stool. There is a cubic butt load of paint in one of the old janitor’s closets up on the stage and any paint I have bought for the rooms is put away in there as well. Last week I took a trip up on the stage and got to digging in the closet. I pulled out a neutral color that matched the tile in the bathroom and kitchen, since they are the same tile it was easy.
