Everyday dose of Reality
Yesterday we had a little bit of running around to do, so we picked up the kids from school helping them dodge the 1.5 hour bus ride home. While in town we decided to stop at Sportsman’s Cafe, home of the legendary mixed berry killer pancakes, they almost took down our son. Macgyver paid our son his allowance in the afternoon while we were at a store. He promptly darted down isles, it the register and bolted from the store after conferring with the husband. Would seem he bought me a gift with is money and started laying down ground rules at the cafe of how I was to find the gift. He started talking about us walking in the woods and searching trees for the gift and on and on.
I am sorry, but the first thing that popped into my head was, “he bought me a gift out of the blue, he wants something I just know it”. As he sat munching and talking I had an arched brow and said, “What? Why a I am going into the woods”? The boy looked at me and said, “It’s ok mom, you’ve got spunk kid”. What did he just call me ha ha ha ha ha
Once we got home he ran out into the woods and hide his present and then he took me on a walk to find it. He is a very, um smart child but the way he comes to his conclusions on things aren’t always the conventional method. His point of the woods to give me the gift was it was a nature type of gift. So…he felt I needed to be out in nature to really enjoy and find the meaning of the gift.
