Super easy to make and such a tasty reward at the end. My kids love fruit roll ups and I hate buying them. I try to cook almost everything homemade and healthy and there are still a few things I store buy for one reason or another. Number one reason, my kids. I realized years ago, if I pick up a package in the store and the list of the ingredients look more like the roll call of how to build a rocket, don’t get it. If I can’t pronounce the first half of the word in the list, it should be a bonus word in a spelling B. These peach fruit roll ups has 2 ingredients and I can pronounce them both!
What you need:
5 ripe peaches
Doing the deed:
First cut the peaches up and drop them in a sauce pan. Don’t forget to keep the pits and plant them in some dirt in a pot, grow a peach tree for the future. Next pour in the sugar and cook on medium heat until it comes to a boil. Reduce heat to a slow simmer for 35-45 minutes. Be careful with this next step because the peaches are as hot as all get out. Ladle the peaches into a blender or food processor and puree. Pull out that dehydrator and line the trays with plastic wrap. Pour the peach puree on the trays and spread evenly. Stack up the trays and away you go. I had 4 trays going and just left it over night, but I didn’t have my trays ready until about 10 at night. Once the puree is set up, slightly sticky to the touch, remove the plastic from the trays. Peel fruit off of the plastic and cut into strips or use cookie cutters to cut shapes. Roll fruit up in wax paper and store in a Ziploc bag for up to 6 months.
