I love to cook and I love to use fresh herbs out of the garden. What I don’t like is, having to dry them out to keep them all year. We work so hard in the garden to grow fresh fruits and veggies. Breaks my heart to see all my hard work with herbs dried up and all the same color. Here is something my grandma showed me years ago and I am passing it on to you. Now, it doesn’t matter if you buy fresh herbs or grow them. I am going to tell you and show you how to keep your fresh herbs, with crisp colors and garden taste all year long.
No, it isn’t magic. Although the way the light hit the tray makes it look like magic sparkles. What you do is clean your herbs and pull out an ice cube tray. Chop the herbs and spread into the tray. Next you fill the tray with olive oil and freeze. That is it! Fresh herbs all year long with actual color. The oil preserves the color and favor. You can pop out the cubes of herbs and store them in an air tight baggie and pull out what you need for cooking. No magic, no mess and no dried up colorless herbs.
